Updated: The web server docs and examples serve extension icon themes .htaccess_root and .htaccess_root_static serve extension/<name>/icons/ (icon.ini [ExtensionSettings] IconExtensions[]) since the rewrite templates gained the rule. The same rule is now in every place that documents or ships the web server rules, in each server's syntax and always limited to svg, png and gif images with exactly one extension: the htaccess and virtual host examples (ezpublish.conf), Apache, LiteSpeed and OpenLiteSpeed, nginx, Caddy, FrankenPHP, IIS and the Velocity page, the serving chapter of the install guide and the hosting help pages. The Apache examples cache the extension icons like share/icons. The icon BC page replaces its old, incorrect rules with the current ones for every server, the upgrade chapter and the 6.0.15 changelog tell existing installations to copy the rule into their own .htaccess or server configuration, and the German copies follow.

Updated: Velocity, FrankenPHP and the PHP built-in server serve extension icon themes The static path list that every built-in engine serves (expVelocity::STATIC_PATHS: the Velocity site configuration, the generated FrankenPHP Caddyfile and the router of the PHP built-in server) gets the rule .htaccess_root already has: extension/<name>/icons/ images (svg, png, gif) with exactly one extension, so an icon theme shipped by an extension is no longer sent to index.php. The engine test checks that such icons are served and that a.php.svg, scripts and other files below icons/ are not. |
