Learning: Custom System Templates

As with custom node templates, you can create custom system templates to change what is displayed. Eg the standard view of the search results contains the content class name as displayed in the table below

You may wish to display more information and create a system template for search that contains the creator and published date of the nodes returned. Eg.

Usually a custom system templates will be a modified copy of the default template.

The automatic fallback system makes it possible to use a mixture of system templates (both custom and standard/default). This way you can create custom system templates only for the views that you need to modify and leave the rest as standard.
